I have successfully represented clients who live in Norcoss in divorce and child custody cases for over twenty years.  In addition to Nocross Divorce and Child Custody cases, I handle a number of different types of family law cases.  If you live in Norcross and you want to file for divorce the law in Georgia is specific as to where you must file your divorce case. In most cases you must file your divorce case in the county where your spouse resides.

Where to File Your Divorce Case If You Reside in Norcross

Below are some examples of where a Norcross resident would have to file his/her divorce case.

If you reside in Norcross and your spouse resides in a Gwinnett County city such as Lilburn, then you must file your divorce papers in Gwinnett County Superior Court.

If you reside in Norcross, but your spouse lives in Atlanta then you must file your divorce case in Fulton County Superior Court.

If you reside in Norcross, but your spouse lives out of state, then you may or may not be able to file in Gwinnett County depending on whether venue and jurisdiction are proper.

You may want to read the following articles if any of these specific situations apply to you:

If you Live in Norcross and Have Recently Been Served with Divorce Papers, You Must Take Immediate Action!

If you have been served with divorce papers then call my office now for a free initial telephone consultation. Georgia law sets out specific time requirements to file an Answer to the divorce papers as well as to any Interrogatories and Request for Production of Documents that were also served on you. Even more importantly, when a divorce is filed a temporary hearing is often scheduled before a judge and it is of the utmost importance that you are prepared for same. In most cases there are important documents that must be prepared and filed before your court date.
